Authorpreneurship

What does it mean to be an authorpreneur? In all honesty, I’m not entirely sure. What I have come to know is that books do not just magically sell themselves. Authors must market their books, but in reality what does that even look like?

I’ve been doing some research on this topic, though I could always research more. The best way to market, that I’ve seen, is to get a solid following of readership for the genre you write. There has to be a platform worth standing on, and if you don’t plan on investing in your book, both your time or treasure, then why should anyone else?

Book signings are great, but nothing hits home more than a relevant connection to the reader. An author who writes from a place of authenticity, or a vulnerable truth, is far more approachable than someone who is selling a book for sellings sake.

I’m not sure if any of this makes any sense. For me, I want my books to have purpose and effect change in this world. I want so much more than to make a profit. In the end, I want my legacy to be that I made a difference. Is there any greater purpose?
